There is not much to go on, so I will be taking backstory from:
616 Universe
and 1610 Universe
Time Line of Events-
Dec 17, 1981 - Clint born in Iowa. Father is a drunk and abusive, mother isn't around long, 3 years old Barney watches out for him
1987 - Clint (6) loses father in a drunk driving accident, sent to orphanage w/ brother (9)
1993 - Clint (12) & Barney (15) run away and join a circus, "adopted" by Buck Chisholm/Trickshot one of the performers who starts teaching Clint and Barney various circus acts.
1998 - Barney (20) leaves circus to join Army. Misunderstanding leads Clint (17) to believe he has been abandoned. Clint finishes high school then leaves the Circus as soon as he is 18 and legally an adult.
1998 - 2000 - Clint works odd jobs: security/bouncer mostly and gets fired a lot for things like insubordination.
1999 - Reunites with Barney who is part of SHIELD now, he sees potential in Clint and gets him interested in SHIELD
2000 - Officially joins SHIELD
2003 - Barney is discovered to be a traitor working with operatives to take down SHIELD. Barton is assigned to take him down. He is led to believe that Barney is dead. Clint blames himself.
2004 - Rescues Widow, recruits her for SHIELD
2004 - 2010 - several missions with Widow and various near-death incidents
2010 - Thor encounter
2011 - Avengers assemble.
[Personality]
Hawkeye is mainly known for his sense of humor and, by sense of humor, I mean his extreme sarcasm. He has a bit of a mouth on him at times, enough to get him into fights or trouble if he's not careful. He's pretty bad about treating some situations like a game or a joke as well, mostly because he's confident of his skills and has faith in his teammates. The point is, however, he likes to find humor in even the most dire of situations and deals with trouble by talking about it sarcastically.
Humor aside, Hawkeye DOES know when to be serious and has a strong sense of justice that motivates him to be the hero that he is. He is a trained SHIELD agent of course and it can only be assumed that he chose that profession so that he could help others and fulfill that sense of justice. Even though he complains about his job sometimes or jokes about how often he has to step in and "save the day" he does it again and again out of a sense of what is right. He could never just let someone suffer, at least, not the entire world.
Overall, he's a fairly laid back and good natured guy. Able to chill and take life as it comes, which usually means having to shift into 'serious mode' fairly quickly. However, he has a stubborn streak a mile wide, which doesn't always go well with a military agency like SHIELD. Although he tends to be more critical of others than himself, he does accept that he's not the most perfect of human beings and he has his flaws. His main flaw seems to be that of his over confidence in himself and his sheer stubbornness/one track mind.
He trusts his friends/coworkers with his life, but if you ever betray that trust then he will hold a grudge against you for a LONG time. Past experiences have led him to disliking the idea of being deceived. His impatience, at times, can lead to him being a bit difficult to work with.
[Specialties/Abilities]
No super-human abilities to speak of, Clint does possess the ability to hit just about any target or multiple targets with his arrows. He is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, though goes more for power than speed. He has also been shown to be quite acrobatic, which probably comes from his time in the circus. Basically he is at the peak of human condition for a male of his age and has had enough training to back it up and make him quite a formidable opponent. While it remains unseen, Hawkeye probably has experience with other weapons as well, both melee and ranged as part of his S.H.I.E.L.D training. He is a very observant man as well, whether this is due to his keen eyesight or skill is yet to be determined. Also Hawkeye has a decent amount of understanding of technology, but it's a basic user level at best (he's not a hacker or a scientist by any means).

Just run it by me first. At the moment he's probably not really the "huggy/touchy" type so would prefer you stay at arm's length.
